| It was Buster's big, earthy sound that anchored several of the early 70's recordings by Herbie Hancock, Joe Farrell and others that first brought me into this music. One of the truly great bassists in the history of Jazz, Buster has performed and recorded with a veritable Who's Who of Jazz greats representing a wide array of styles. Buster's 75th Birthday tours in 2017 have featured his current quartet with George Colligan on piano, Lenny White on drums, and Steve Wilson on sax, and if one of them is not available frequent subs include Patrice Rushen, Stefon Harris, and Cindy Blackman Santana. He calls all his bands SOMETHING MORE, and with Buster that's consistently what you get. |
