It was Buster’s big, earthy sound that anchored several of the early 70’s recordings by Herbie Hancock, Joe Farrell and others that first brought me into this music.  One of the truly great bassists in the history of Jazz, Buster has performed and recorded with a veritable Who’s Who of Jazz greats representing a wide array of styles.  2022 saw Buster playing a number of festivals with his current all-star Quartet Something More, featuring George Colligan on piano, Lenny White on drums, and Steve Wilson on sax, and the new film on Buster, Bass to Infinity, was voted Jazz Documentary of the Year in both Downbeat and JazzTimes.  Buster’s Quartet knocked the audience out again at Jazz Guimaraes in Portugal in 2023.  Now is Buster’s time, so get him while he’s hot!
