I’ve turned down literally hundreds of musicians a year for representation, but could not pass up this very special Jazz/Folk singer-songwriter who Fred Hersch has hailed as “a first-rate musician in every way.”   Joanna has a gorgeous, evocative voice, poetic lyrics that tell a story, great beauty and stage presence, and an overall musicality that comes from being the daughter and younger sister of renowned classical musicians.  After graduating from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music in her native London, Joanna then moved to NYC, where she worked with luminaries such as Wynton Marsalis, recorded 2 CDs with pianist Dan Tepfer that made Downbeat’s list of the Best CDs of the Year in 2015 and 2016, and was recently mentioned by Ted Gioia in his list of 150 Jazz Masters in early to mid-career.
