MATT SAVAGE, officially an "autistic savant" whose musical genius was recognized by Dave Brubeck when Matt was 8 years old, has now grown into a high-functioning adult who received his Master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 2015 on his 23rd birthday. A pianist and composer of the highest rank, Matt has headlined at festivals both here and abroad as well as the Kennedy Center and legendary NYC clubs Birdland, Jazz Standard, the Blue Note, and Iridium – and any Jazz musician would love to have his resume of radio and TV appearances: NPR's All Things Considered and Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland, the Today Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and the Late Show with David Letterman. Matt's most recent CD was his first ever solo recording, MATT SAVAGE: Piano Voyages, and resulted in some fine solo gigs including performances at the Medicine Hat Jazz Festival in Canada and the Earshot Jazz Fest in Seattle.
